When You Are Discharged

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size

Discharge is on the first level of the parking garage. You must arrange for a responsible adult to meet you at the center and to drive you home. Select someone who will be available at your time of discharge.

We strongly advise that for the first 24 hours after your surgery you DO NOT:

  • Drive a car or operate machinery.
  • Drink alcoholic beverages.
  • Make important decisions or sign legal documents.
  • Take medications that have not been prescribed by your physician.

Be sure that you understand and are able to follow all instructions for your post-operative care.

A nurse will make a follow-up call to check your progress. If you have any questions or have encountered any problems, please discuss them with the nurse.

Remember, your body will need some time to adjust after surgery. Plan to relax and avoid strenuous activity.
